The Right Worshipful Master Brother Martin Williamson
\r\n\r\nIt has been customary among Freemasons, from time immemorial, once in every year, for a Lodge to elect from among its number, an expert Brother to preside over it. This year, the task falls to Brother Martin Astley Williamson. Brother Williamson was initiated into Freemasonry in The Glenlyon Lodge on the 13th February 2008, Passed on the 14th May 2008 and Raised on the 12th November 2008. He thereafter Advanced to the degree of Mark Master Mason on the 11th November, 2009 and Installed as Right Worshipful Master of The Glenlyon Lodge No 346 on Friday, 5th December 2014. Brother Williamson has enlarged his Masonic career by becoming a member of the Seville Royal Arch Chapter No. 823 on the 8th March, 2011; he also affiliated to Lodge Seville No 553 SC on the 26th January, 2012 and became a member of Seville Lodge and Council and Cryptic Council on the 6th May, 2013.\r\n\r\nBro Martin Williamson is a professional Engineer and is a proud past student of Manchester High School and the University of the West Indies (St. Augustine) where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He also obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of the West Indies (Mona), He has a distinguished professional career in both the private and public sector. He was first employed within the Ministry of Mining and Energy where he was initially assigned duties as an Inspector of Mines. He was promoted to Chief Inspector of Mines and then Director of Mineral Economics. After eleven year of distinguished service in the Ministry of Energy and Mining, he left the Public Service and sojourned to the Private Sector where he was employed to the Caribbean Cement Company as Mining Engineer. Thereafter he went to Noranda Jamaica Bauxite where he was employed as Senior Projects Engineer. In this capacity for the past seven years he has been responsible for a wide variety of important engineering projects. Brother Martin Williamson was also been appointed, Justice of the Peace for the parish of St. Ann on the 16th July, 2013.\r\n\r\nBro Martin Williamson has outlined his plan for his year of administration. His foremost priority will be to ensure the sustainability of The Glenlyon Lodge by focusing the Lodge’s efforts in obtaining positive results with respect its plans and programs. The new Right Worshipful Master has made his intention clear to tap into the enthusiasm and zeal for Freemasonry by the more recently initiated Brethren guided by the counsel of the more experienced Brethren in particular the Past Masters of the Lodge. We congratulate him on his ascension to the “Chair of King Solomon” and pledge our support for his program for the growth and development of The Glenlyon Lodge.\r\n\r\n
